From FAA Advisory Circular No: 20-115C, Dated 7/19/2013 "Many FAA TSOs do not specify DO-178C for software assurance. For TSOs that specify a version prior to DO-178C, or do not specify any version of DO-178, we recommend that you use DO-178C."


At SigmaDO our trainers have a combined total of 60 years in the Avionics Software Industry as Software Engineers. We have the hands-on knowledge to take your project through FAA certification, and will impart that knowledge to you during our classes. The DO-178C textbook that we will train from, and that you will receive included with our class, is written by a Software Engineer, DER, and past FAA Technical Advisor.

Len Bryan is a Software/ Hardware Engineer with over 30 years experience in Avionics Systems, real-time embedded Software, and Hardware Development/ Verification. He has over 20 years experience with DO-178BA/B/C to levels 1,2, A,B,C and D. He has experience at all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Mr. Bryan's avionics experience was acquired while working on products such as COMM/ NAV, Mode-C/S Transponders, RMI, ILS, TCAS II, TA/VSI, ACARS, HHSI, EFIS, Cabin Cargo Controller, IFES, and ACP. He has extensive experience with Software Implemented Finite and Heirarchical State Machines related to human interfaces and displays.

Mr. Bryan also taught at the Technical College level, has trained engineering departments on test and verification processes, and has been an invited guest speaker for Trade Shows and Conferences. He has also recently been awarded several patents.

 

Cindielie Pow-Sang is a Software Engineer with over 25 years experience in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle developing software for real-time embedded systems satisfying the guidelines of RTCA/DO-178A/B/C for software levels 1,2,3, A, B, C and D.

Ms. Pow-Sang’s avionics experience was gained through products like the Quantum Line of Communications and Navigation equipment comprised of 6 line Replaceable Units (RA, ILS, VOR, VDR, DME and ADF), Predictive Windshear & Weather (RDR-4B), a marine navigation surveillance radar indicator system, a Liquid Crystal Display Present Position Radar Indicator (LCD/PPI), a Traffic Advisory/Vertical Speed Indicator (TA/VSI), Traffic Control and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), and an Electronic Flight Instrumentation System (EFIS-10).

Ms. Pow-Sang is also an experienced Total Quality Facilitator in resolving customer issues. She was selected for 1 of 5 Total Quality Master Facilitator positions to coordinate the planning efforts and training of close to 1200 employees in Total Quality methods and tools.
